Hollywood superstar to play legandary UFC and PRIDE fighter in new movie

Hollywood superstar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will star as UFC and PRIDE legend Mark Kerr in an upcoming biopic. The movie will be called ”The Smashing Machine” and is based on the life of Kerr.
Independent movie studio A24 will produce the film with Benny Safdie directing. Safdie, who’s known for directing the award winning movie Uncut Gems with Adam Sandler, will also write the script.
“Dwayne and Benny are singular talents, and their shared vision for Mark’s inspiring story is electrifying,” Noah Sacco from A24 said in a statement. We are deeply honored to have their trust as collaborators in bringing this incredibly special project to life.”

Dwayne Johnson is a huge MMA fan
Retired professional wrestler, now actor and film producer, Dwayne Johnson is a big fan of MMA and worked together with UFC for a few occations.
Born in 1968, Mark Kerr is a former two-time UFC Heavyweight Tournament Champion, World Vale Tudo Championship tournament winner, PRIDE FC competitor and a four-time ADCC World Champion.
