UFC recently removed four fighters, including two former champions, from its active roster list.

Kyle Daukaus

In December 2022, middleweight Kyle Daukaus fought his last fight on his UFC contract and is now a free agent.

Daukaus left with a promotional record of 2-4-1, with wins against Dustin Stoltzfus and Jamie Pickett.

Shamil Abdurakhimov

Heavyweight Shamil Abdurakhimov was removed from the roster after his loss to Jailton Almeida at UFC 283.

After losing four straight fights, Abdurakhimov left with a promotional record of 5-6. His biggest wins came against Marcin Tybura and Walt Harris.

Legendary MMA fighter, and former UFC light heavyweight champion, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua decided to do his farewell fight at UFC 283 in Brazil.

“I left everything in the rings and Octagon and gave it my all. I feel relieved and fulfilled in a sense of accomplishment because I did my best and it was a long career,” Rua said after the final fight.

The Brazilian left with a promotional record of 11-12-1.

After coming up short against Jamahal Hill in their light heavyweight title fight at UFC 283, 43-year-old Glover Teixeira decided that enough was enough and retired from the sport.

“I think I am too tough for my own good, for my own health — I cannot keep up anymore,” Teixeira said in the octagon interview before putting down his gloves.

In the last years of his career, the Brazilian veteran grew incredibly popular amongst MMA fans, and in 2021, at 41 years of age, he became the UFC light heavyweight champion after submitting Jan Blachowicz.
