Boxing superstar Gervonta Davis arrested – jailed on domestic violence charge

On Tuesday, boxing superstar Gervonta Davis was arrested in Parkland, Florida. He was jailed on a domestic violence charge of battery causing bodily harm, according to Broward County Sheriff’s Office records.

Accoding to ESPN, Davis is scheduled to appear at a court hearing Wednesday at 8 a.m. ET.

The 28-year-old boxing star has been arrested several times in the past few years.

Gervonta Davis is scheduled to fight on January 7

On January 7, the American boxer is scheduled to headline a PBC on Showtime PPV event against Hector Luis Garcia. If the arrest affects the bout is not yet known.

He’s also supposed to clash with undefeated boxing star Ryan Garcia in Las Vegas, on April 25. The fight was announced in mid November.

Davis is undefeated with a record of 27-0 and held multiple world championship titles in three different weight classes.
