UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi adds a highly anticipated light heavyweight bout to the main card.

No. 7 ranked Johnny Walker will take on No. 2 ranked Magomed Ankalaev in a pivotal fight for the 205-pound division. The bout was first reported by Vestnik MMA.

The light heavyweiht division is currently without a champion since Jamahal Hill recently vacated the title after an injury, and the winner between Walker and Ankalaev puts himself in a very good position to fight for the belt in 2024.

The Brazilian has three straight wins over Ion Cutelaba, Craig and former title challenger Anthony Smith, while Ankalaev comes from a draw against Jan Błachowicz when they clashed for the vacant light heavyweight strap in December 2022.

UFC 294 with Johnny Walker

UFC 294 takes place October 21, at Etihad Arena in Abud Dhabi, and will be headlined by a lightweight championship rematch between reigning champion Islam Makhachev and former champion Charles Oliveira. The pair previously met at UFC 280 one year prior, wherein Makhachev won the vacant lightweight strap by a massive second-round submission.

The card also features a highly interesting and anticipated middleweight bout between top ranked Paulo Costa and undefeated star Khamzat Chimaev.
