Kevin Lee returns to UFC – expected to fight this spring

Former top ranked lightweight Kevin Lee is returning to the UFC.
The 30-year-old recently inked a new deal with the promotion, one year after being released from his former contract. ESPN was first to report the news.
“I feel like I’m going back home. I’m grateful for them welcoming me back and looking forward to the next chapter of my career,” Lee said in a statement to ESPN.

Kevin Lee is expected to return this spring
”The Motown Phenom” is expected to return to action this spring, although no opponent is yet announced.
Lee first joined the UFC in 2014, quickly became a fast-rising contender in the stacked lightweight division. He fought 18 fights during his first run with the UFC, including wins over Gregor Gillespie, Edson Barboza and Michael Chiesa.
After a five-fight winning streak he clashed with Tony Ferguson for the vacant interim lightweight title at UFC 216. Despite starting off strong, ”The Motown Phenom” lost the title fight via a third-round submission.
In his last five UFC fights he was 1-4, which led to his departure from the organization in 2021.
Kevin Lee last defeated MMA veteran Diego Sanchez at Eagle FC 46 in March last year.
