Khamzat breaks down a potential fight with ’scared little boy’ Colby Covington: ”That’s an easy fight”

Khamzat Chimaev is confident that he would have any problems fighting Colby Covington.

Recently appearing on The MMA Hour, Chimaev broke down a potential fight with the top ranked American welterweight.

”For me, that’s an easy fight. Stylistically for me, it’s much easier. I’m a much better grappler than him, much better wrestler than him, my striking as well, hard punch. He spoke about his cardio. How’s he going to use his cardio? How is he going to take me down? How is he going to hurt me? He’s too little a boy. He’s scared,” Chimaev said and continued:

”That’s why when guys move up he starts, ‘I was never offered.’ Why didn’t you talk about that before? One day before, Dana White said Khamzat is moving up and the day after [Covington] starts to speak about me. Why didn’t he speak one week before that? Now you see.”

According to UFC president Dana White, Covington is next in line to fight for the welterweight strap. Many fighters and fans believe that ”Chaos”, who has one win in his last three fights, should have been more active before getting his third shot at the title.

Khamzat, however, didn’t seem too bothered about who’s getting the title fight next. As long as he gets a good fight that pays well, he claims that he doesn’t care about titles.

“I don’t care about that shit,” Chimaev said. “I don’t care about that shit belt as well.”

“I will be No. 1 pound-for-pound without the belt. First fighter in the world to become pound-for-pound No. 1 without the belt.”
