This past Saturday, Swedish MMA fighter Malin Hermansson faced undefeated Dakota Ditcheva in the PFL Europe 1 co-main event.
Hermansson took the fight on very short-notice and unfortunately lost the fight via submission in the first round.
After the tough defeated she released a statement on social media, in which she commented on both the fight as well as her future career.
”Well, it didnt go my way. Got caught, small mistakes can cost you a fight, and it did. A bit long text but I need to get this out. To be given this opportunity is something over the top. I fought co-main event in PFL, with 2.5 weeks notice, thats cool!
Not many will be given the chance to get to this level in MMA and people who never been in a big pro MMA organisation have no idea how hard but cool it is. I’ve been fighting in some major organisations, which makes me realise win or loss I’ve succeded when I got to this level.
I’ve been competing in fighting since I was 19 years old. All my mma fights has been against good and tough opponents, I’ve never chosen easy fights, I’ve worked hard and taken the opportunities I’ve been given, no matter the time to prepare. Sometimes it hasnt been optimal but I have never backed out.
Now we going back home to our gym, back to coaching and training, helping my teammates. Living the MMA dreamlife that we have built up in our town Örebro and creating the future of mma athletes in Örebro Fight Gym.
But I’ve no idea if I will compete in proMMA again.”
