Nate Diaz turns himself in to New Orleans police

MMA star Nate Diaz turned himself in to police Thursday following an arrest warrant for a felony charge of second-degree battery issued by the New Orleans Police Department.

Diaz was in custody Thursday but was released after posting a $10,000 bond. His representative Zach Rosenfield later released a statement to the media:

”Nate voluntarily turned himself in to the New Orleans Police Department this morning approximately at 7:10 am. CT. We continue to look forward to presenting all the evidence and videos that show Nate was acting in self-defense.”

In a statement sent to MMA Fighting, Rosenfield gave more information about the situation.

“Bond has been granted and posted with the full permission from the court to resume travel which includes returning to Stockton today,” Rosenfield said. ”We appreciate how we were treated by the New Orleans Police Department, the court and their staff.”

If Nate Diaz is found guilty to the charges of second-degree battery, he could face up to eight years in prison and/or a $2,000 fine.

Nate Diaz is scheduled to box Jake Paul

Nate Diaz is scheduled to clash with Jake Paul in a boxing match on August 5, this will be the UFC veterans first fight after leaving the MMA promotion last year.

The fight will take place in Dallas, Texas.
