Former champ Jonas Mågård just clashed with Igor Severino from Brazil in a pivotal fight at OKTAGON 65.

Mågård had an advantage in height, reach and experience but Severino looked confident ahead of the fight. The Brazilian landed his swinging right hand and good liver shots but Mågård took the fight to the ground and showed proof of his skilled grappling. Severino secured a tight guillotine but the Danish ex-champ showed his veteran savvy and defended well.

Mågård rocked his young opponent with heavy shots in the beginning of the second round. He then controlled most of the round with his wrestling.

The Brazilian started the final round strong and succesfully mixed up his striking. After three gruelling rounds Igor Severino stood as the winner via split decision with 29-28, 28-29 and 29-28 on the scorecards.

”I will be the champion. My next fight will be a title fight,” Severino said after the fight.
