OKTAGON co-founder Ondřej Novotný has commented on the signing of Swedish prospect Liam Pitts, who earned a contract with the promotion following a standout performance at AFN 10.

Swedish MMA talent Liam Pitts is officially heading to the European powerhouse, OKTAGON MMA.

Ahead of this weekend’s AFN 10, it was announced that the fighter who stood out the most would be offered a contract, and after a victory in just 39 seconds, that opportunity went to Pitts.

Now, OKTAGON’s co-founder, Ondřej Novotný, has shared his thoughts on the Swedish star.

–We knew about Liam even before his big victory, Novotný says in an exclusive comment to Frontkick.

He emphasizes that the transition to OKTAGON will be a new challenge for the Swede and that there is no rush for his debut.

– Now that he is part of the OKTAGON team, it will be a big step up for him. He has a good manager, so there is no reason to rush him.

– We won’t see him make his debut until the end of this year. We haven’t thought about any opponents yet – we need to talk to each other first.

Allstars Teammates could follow Liam Pitts to OKTAGON

Liam Pitts is not the only fighter from the Allstars Training Center aiming for the European stage. His teammate Najib Adams, who himself won with a spectacular knockout at the same event, says he is ready to follow suit.

– I’m more than ready when the opportunity arises, but we’ll start with my little brother Liam first. We have promised each other that we will compete for the same promotions for as long as we can, Adams told Frontkick.

Adams also expresses great confidence in his teammate’s future in the new organization.

– The way Liam trains and performs in his fights, I’m not worried at all about how he will do in OKTAGON!

The move to OKTAGON marks a new and exciting phase in Pitts’ career.

In a short space of time, OKTAGON has grown into a giant on the European scene, known for its sold-out venues and high-quality productions.

For Liam Pitts, there is now a clear path to be inspired by. His teammate at Allstars Training Center, Felipe Lima, recently took the step from being an OKTAGON champion to securing a contract with the UFC.

Although Pitts is early in his pro career, his success rests on a solid foundation. He has a distinguished background as a wrestler and an amateur MMA fighter, having won several titles and represented Sweden in the MMA World Championships.
