After Saturday’s win over Dillian Whyte, heavyweight champion Tyson Fury announced his retirement from the sport of boxing.
”I fulfilled everything that I wanted to fulfill. I’m going to retire as the only second heavyweight in history, after Rocky Marciano, to retire undefeated,” Fury said on the post fight press conference.
Even though ”Gypsy King” declared he will leave the sport, his promoter Bob Arum is more than sure that the champion will stick around for a bit longer.
”No, he definitely won’t retire. Of course not. Are you crazy?” Arum sad to USA TODAY Sports+ shortly after Fury’s victory.

After Saturday’s bout, UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou entered the Wembley ring, and Fury took the mic to open for a fight between the two.
”This is going to be one very special fight, like one never before seen in the sport. We’re not talking two light guys. It’s going to be an explosive fight when it happens,” Fury said to ESPN.
Ngannou just went through a knee surgery and might be back in fighting condition at the end of the year. The UFC champion seemed to be excited about the possible match up though.
”I’m going to find out who is the baddest motherfucker on the planet. It’s going to be a hybrid fight. MMA gloves, in the ring. Something different,” Ngannou said in the ring.
Winner of Oleksandr Usyk vs. Anthony Joshua

As it looks now, the three-belt heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk will once again face former heavyweight king Anthony Joshua. England’s Joshua lost his WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight world titles to the Ukrainian back in September. The rematch is expected to take place in July, but no exact date is confirmed yet.
If Tyson Fury feels that he still has more to do in the sport of boxing, fighting the winner of that bout is the obvious choice. Especially if Joshua wins. A fight between the two British boxers would quite possibly be even bigger than the 94.000-crowd Dillian Whyte bout.

The ”Gypsy King’s” could also be serious about retiring. Right after Saturday’s win he revealed that he promised his wife to end the career after the last Wilder fight, in October last year.
”I won every belt there is to win. There is nothing more I could do. I won every belt in the game. If this was a computer game, it would definitely be completed.”
