UFC 304: Belal Muhammad is the new welterweight champion!

UFC 304 just went down at the Co-op Live in Manchester, England.
The card was headlined by a welterweight title fight between reigning champion Leon Edwards who will take on Belal Muhammad in his third title defense. The fight was a rematch of their 2021 meeting, which ended in a no contest.
The challenger had big first round with two takedowns and solid boxing. In the second round, Muhammad took the champions back before slamming Edwards on his head.
Muhammad continued to pressure Edwards in the beginning of the third round. However, the champ was able to take Muhammad’s back with a lot of time to work. The fight continued at a high pace in the fourt round. Muhammad set up a takedown with solid punches and took the champ’s back. By the end of the round, Edwards reversed position but did not get much done.
Edwards was looking for a finish in the fifth and final round, but Muhammad was once again able to take his back. Even though the Brit ended the fight on top, landing big elbows, Muhammad was declared winner via via unanimous decision with 48-47, 48-47 and 49-46 on the scorecards.
