Just one hour after the tough loss in the semi finals, Swedish judoka Tara Babulfath defeated Abiba Abuzhakynova from Kazakstan. The bronze was the first medal for Sweden in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
The medal was also the first-ever for a Swedish judoka.
”I have no words,” Babulfath told SVT Sport. ”I used my anger from the semifinals and got back, but I didn’t want to cry on TV.
Babulfath had two warnings before winning the fight.
”It was a bit scary but I just had to win that damn medal,” Babulfath said.
