Lerone Murphy wins featherweight banger at UFC 308!

We just say a featherweight bout between rising star Lerone Murphy and seasoned veteran Dan Ige on the main card of UFC 308..
Ige pressured from the very start and out the Brit on his heels. Murphy cut Ige with an elbow, but the Hawaian took the fight to the ground after 90 seconds. When Murphy got up after a minute and started to work in the clinch. The Brit seemed to find his rhythm the longer the round went. Ige dropped Murphy and poured it on against the cage.
The striking battle continued in the second round, but both fighters were a little more patient. Murphy landed a great spinning kick to the body halfway into the round. He was mixing up his striking well by the end of the second and was even taking the fight to the ground.
The two featherweights were tangled up in a grappling battle for the better part of the third round. Ige seemed to be the buiser of the two and was looking for an arm-triangle in the third but Murphy defended well. By the end of the round, they traded strikes but the fight went the distance.
Murphy eventually stood as the winner via unanimous decision with 29-28 on all scorecards.
”I’m still learning. 16 fights as a professional. The best is yet to come,” Murphy said. ”I want someone in the top 10.”
