Game-changing stakes revealed: Fighting Fury is way more than a payday for Jake Paul

Publicerat

Sunday February 26 will be a big payday for Jake Paul as he’s set to clash with his rival Tommy Fury in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia.
However, what could quite possibly mean more than the cash, is that Paul is one win away from officially being a ranked boxer.
That’s according to WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman, who stated in a Wednesday press release that the WBC ratings committee will rank Paul in the cruiserweight division if he’s able to defeat his British opponent.
”Jake has dedication and respect to the sport and The WBC will not tolerate discrimination against anyone, he deserves the opportunities that any other boxer has. He demonstrated punching power and improved skills as well as a solid chin, Tommy Fury represents a clear challenge to Paul in a battle of two undefeated professional boxers. Jake has enrolled in VADA testing Clean Boxing Program, yet another strong reason to support his stance as a boxer,” Sulaiman stated in the press release.
The YouTuber turned professional boxer has struggled to be accepted as a real fighter by the combat sports community, and being a ranked boxer would be a huge step for Paul.
