Undefeated Martin Corney takes on Waltteri Häkkinen at FCR 17

Martin Corney will fight at FCR 17 in September.

Undefeated amateur Martin Corney will make his pro debut at FCR 17 on September 9 in Uppsala as he takes on Waltteri Häkkinen in a featherweight bout.

Corney has an impressive amatuer career that includes a win against three-time Swedish boxing champion Anton Hellström. He was supposed to make his pro debut at FCR 15 against Sherwan Khalil, but the fight was cancelled due to an injury.

Häkkinen is 2-0 as a pro and defeated Hama Dara and Allstars prospect Djaba Murtazaliev.

Current lineup for FCR 17

FCR 17 will take place on September 9 at Fyrishov Arena in Uppsala and marks the city’s first-ever MMA event.

The fight card will be headlined by a flyweight title bout between 125 lbs top dogs Renato Vidovic and Jonny Touma.

The co-main event features a welterweight clash between Sweden’s Christian Stigenberg and Finland’s Toni Lampinen.

• Bantamweight bout: Ali Yazbeck vs Shoeb Akrami
