Muay Thai For Life Series just announced a massive addition to its upcoming MTFL 4.0 event. On December 10, rising Swede Nicholas Bryant will put his undefeated professional record on the line as he’ll step into the ring for his biggest challenge yet, squaring off against ONE Championship contender Jacob Smith in Baltiska Hallen in Malmö, Sweden.

The five-round bout will serve as the card’s co-main event.

Smith, a teammate to Muay Thai superstar Liam Harrison, remains under contract with ONE but has been given the green light to compete inside the MTFL ring. The British fighter, ranked No. 1 in the UK, last fought at ONE 157 back in May when he took on Muay Thai legend Rodtang Jitmuangnon in the opening round of the prestigious ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix.

While Smith lost that bout by way of decision, he won the respect of fans around the world as he proved to be tough enough to go to distance against one of the sport’s greatest champions.

“Jacob Smith is as tough as they come,” Patrick Thomsen, founder of the Muay Thai For Life Series, told Frontkick.online. “He’s one of the most dangerous fighters in the world and it’s an honour to have him competing in the Muay Thai For Life Series. I’m incredibly grateful to ONE Championship for signing off and giving the go-ahead. It’s huge for us that we’re able to bring these world-class fighters over to Sweden to showcase their skills for the Scandinavian fight fans and everyone watching worldwide on DAZN.”

Nicholas Bryant hopes to shock the world against Jacob Smith in his third Muay Thai For Life bout

On paper, Bryant is certainly the underdog in this matchup. However, underestimating him would be a big mistake.

The Gothenburg-based fighter is a three-time Swedish Muay Thai champion with a 7-0 pro record. He’s also a reigning WMC European lightweight champion and widely considered to be one of the hottest prospects in Sweden at the moment.

“Nicholas Bryant has looked unstoppable in his previous two MTFL fights and he’s a tremendous ambassador for the sport. He’ll now get a chance to shock the world and prove that he’s one of the most formidable fighters in the world, and let me tell you, he’s up for the challenge. This is a great opportunity for Bryant and I expect him to rise to the occasion and give Jacob Smith a really good fight.”
