Yesterday, Swedish MMA fighter Andreas ”Bane” Gustafsson announced that he’s pulling out of his upcoming bout against Jakyp Tuganbaev at FCR 20 next weekend.
”Some sad news; I will not compete at FCR 20,” Berg said on Instagram about pulling out of FCR 20.” But we have big news coming up. We can’t announced anything at his moment, but will do shortly. I can promise you that it is really, really big news.”
According to Frontkick’s sources close to the situation, Gustafsson will fight in the Dana White Contender Series (DWCS) in August. At the moment, there is no news on who the Swede will face in DWCS.
Andreas Gustafsson has made a name for himself as one of the most exciting fighters in the Scandinavian MMA scene.
The 33-year-old’s fight with Toni Lampinen became the UFC Fight Pass 2023 Fight of the Year.
During his pro MMA career, the Swede competed in organization’s like FCR, KSW and BRAVE CF as a welterweight and middleweight. He pulled together a 10-2 record, with nine of the victories coming via stoppage.
As an amateur he won silver in IMMAF world championships.
