Boston’s Calvin Kattar is looking to bounce back from a tough split decision loss to Josh Emmett in June, and is focused on not letting the win in the upcoming five-round main event slip through his hands.
âThis sport is very humbling,â Kattar said at the pre-fight press conference. âItâs always, âon to the next,â even after a win or a loss. We understand weâve got a tough competitor ahead of us. To not give him my full focus would be a mistake. All hands on deck for this one. All the focus is on Arnold Allen.â
No. 6 ranked Allen has a record of 18-1, with an impressive 9-0 in the UFC. He last defeated Dan Hooker via a first-round TKO at UFC London in March.
Kattar is 3-3 in his last six fights, with victories against Jeremy Stephens, Dan Ige and Giga Chikadze. His losses came against some of the divisionâs best opponents in Zabit Magomedsharipov, Max Holloway and Josh Emmett.
