Ahead of his bantamweight debut on Saturday, Cub Swanson seemed like he had nothing to say to the press at the recent UFC Vegas 62 media day.

In fact, the veteran bizarrely enough chose to be completely silent, leaving his teammate and Dan Argueta to answer all the questions for him.

“He wanted to test me,” Archueta said. “He wanted to see if I answered everything correctly for him.”

Hidden behind a pair of sunglasses, Swanson showed no emotions whatsoever during the short and weird press conference.

Cub Swanson will face Jonathan Martinez in divisional debut

Saturday’s fight against Jonathan Martinez will be the first bantamweight fight for former featherweight Swanson.

“We know that Jonathan’s going to get out there, wanting to play at his pace and have a little striking match, and we are here to bring war,” Argueta said on behalf of Swanson. “I think we are looking for a first round KO.”

“I think we’ve been looking forward to a dog fight. We’ve been looking forward to going in there just causing destruction.”

Cub Swanson is 3-1 in his last octagon appearances and comes from a TKO win against Darren Elkins. His opponent Martinez is riding a three-fight winning streak.
