Former UFC bantamweight champion Holly “The Preacher’s Daughter” Holm will be back in action this summer.
On July 15, she will step in to take Miesha Tate’s place in the headliner against Mayra Bueno Silva at the Apex in Las Vegas. Former UFC champion Tate recently suffered an injury that forced her to pull out from her fight against Bueno Silva.
The news of the matchup was first reported at “The MMA Hour” with Ariel Helwani.
Holm is 3-2 in her last UFC fights and comes from a unanimous decision win against Yana Santos. The 41-year-old is currently ranked at No. 3 in the division and intends to give one last run at the UFC bantamweight belt.
No. 10 ranked Bueno Silva has three straight wins against Wu Yanan, Stephanie Egger and Lina Länsberg. In eight UFC fights she won three post-fight bonuses.
