In a new interview with The Schmo, light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka opens up about his next move in the UFC.
“I have to make a decision about next fight, and I’m thinking about give offer to Glover for a rematch or the challenge to Jan,” Prochazka said. “Because Jan is for me a bigger challenge, but I think Glover, he made a great performance in that fight. And I have to say to him huge respect for that. So, we will see.”
The champion wants to sit down with the UFC to decide which one of the to challengers that will get the opportunity to fight for the title.
“They are closest to the champion so I think that’s the one and only reason. They deserve that.”

Jiri Prochazka: “Without defending the title you are not the true champ”
On June 12, Jiri Prochazka won the light heavyweight title after defeating Teixeira. The bout ended up being a thrilling ‘Fight of the Year’ contender.
“It was a true war, Glover is a true warrior and I like that,” Prochazka said in his post-fight interview at UFC 275.

Now, the new-crowned champion aims to get back in the octagon before the end of the year.
“I have to defend the title,” Prochazka told The Schmo. “Without defending the title you are not the true champ, so that’s what I’m looking for right now, and I will challenge myself after that.”
