Swedish top ranked bantamweight Pannie Kianzad has been out of action since June, when a torn ligament forced her out of her planned fight against top ranked Irene Aldana.

However, in a recent interview with Frontkick’s Ashah Tafari, Kianzad’s manager Majdi Shammas revealed that the Swedish fighter will be back this summer and has two potential opponents in mind.

“Pannie is back soon. Like, in the summer, we’re aiming for a good fight. We are looking at two opponents we want – Holly Holm or Yana Kunitskaya. Pannie wants to fight them so we are going to ask for that fight in the summer. So she will be back in the summer,” Shammas said.

Pannie Kianzad is ranked No. 7 in the world

The 31-year-old Swede currently holds the No. 7 spot in the UFC bantamweight division.

Since her UFC debut back in July 2019, she’s competed seven times and holds a promotional record of 5-2, a record that includes wins against Sijara Eubanks, Alexis Davis and former bantamweight title challenger Bethe Correia.

The current champion of the bantamweight division is the legendary Amanda Nunes, who in July defeated Julianna Peña to win back her title via a unanimous decision.

“I would face Peña any day of the week, I would knock her out,” Kianzad told Swedish fighting podcast Käftsmällspodden a while back.
