Former two-time UFC champion T.J. Dillashaw has reportedly decided to hang up his gloves for good.
The 36-year-old bantamweight’s decision to retire comes after he was forced to undergo another complicated shoulder surgery. Dillashaw was severely compromised going into his last fight at UFC 280, and immediately dislocated his shoulder.
Michael Wonsover first reported the news on Twitter, and was later confirmed by UFC officials according to MMA Fighting.

Two time UFC champion, and one-time UFC flyweight title challenger, TJ Dillashaw retires as one of the absolute best bantamweights in MMA history.
Making his promotional debut in February 2012. Just two years later he won the bantamweight championship after defeating Renan Barão via a fifth-round TKO. He defended his title twice, against Joe Soto and Renan Barão, before losing it to all-time great Dominick Cruz.
However, after back-to-back wins against Raphael Assunção and John Lineker, Dillashaw got to face then champion, and former teammate, Cody Garbrandt in 2017, winning back the title with a massive second-round TKO.
Dillashaw later challenged Henry Cejudo for the UFC flyweight strap, but got knocked out in the first round. He also tested positive, in both pre and post-fight drug tests, for erythropoietin (EPO), and was therefore suspended for two years by USADA.
