Title fight-hungry Tom Aspinall ready to fight ”the fella who nobody wants”

Top ranked heavyweight Tom Aspinall wants a fight that takes him closer to a title bout.

The British contender was ready to step into the cage to square off against the French superstar at past Saturday’s UFC Paris, but claimed that the promotion was not interested.

“I’m no bully,” Aspinall recently told The MacLife. “If he doesn’t want the fight, I’m not going to try and force it on him. I wanted to go in the cage. The UFC didn’t want me to go in the cage. Yeah, if he wants the fight, it’s here. If he doesn’t want the fight, we’ll see. I know I’m a bad matchup for him. I think that stylistically it’s a good matchup for me, but if he doesn’t want it, then I understand.”

If the French heavyweight won’t accept the call out, Aspinall said he’s ready to face No. 1 ranked knockout artist Sergei Pavlovich next.

“I’m happy to step up and take that. Like I’m more than happy to fight Sergei Pavlovich. I was supposed to fight two times before. The fights didn’t happen for whatever reason. Yeah, let’s do it. I’m happy to fight anyone that gets me close to the title.”

Ciryl Gane responds Tom Aspinall

Ciryl Gane claimed that doesn’t have a preference of opponent or timeline for his next fight.

“Since I started my career, I had no answer, no matter who, no matter. Do you remember my first words? Anyone, anywhere — do you remember that? I stay exactly the same guy but I want to go to the belt,” Gane said at the UFC Paris post-fight press conference.
