Veteran UFC fighter Cynthia Calvillo was released from her contract after her split decision loss to Loopy Godinez at this past weekend’s UFC 287.
The algorithm-based Twitter account UFC Roster Watch recently showed her as removed from the promotion’s roster.
Calvillo made her UFC debut three fights into her professional career, and immediately picked up three victories in a row, with wins over Amanda Cooper, Pearl Gonzalez and Joanne Wood.
The 35-year-old, who fought in strawweight and flyweight, tested herself against the best in both divisions, including fights against ex-champions Jessica Andrade and Carla Esparza.
Cynthia Calvillo happy about performance: “Hell of a fight”
Returning to strawweight, Cynthia Calvillo was happy about her performance in what turned out to be her last UFC fight.
“Hell of a fight. Physically and mentally this was the best I’ve felt in a long time. Didn’t get the result we worked for but still gained a lot. It feels good to be back at strawweight and I can’t wait to see what’s next,” Calvillo wrote on Instagram after the bout against Godinez at UFC 287.
The 35-year-old veteran left the UFC with five straight losses and a promotional recordo of 6-6-1. Her last win was a unanimous decision against Jessica Eye back in June 2020.
