UFC on ABC 3: Yair Rodriguez defeated Brian Ortega by TKO

In the main event of UFC on ABC 3, former two time featherweight title challenger Brian “T-City” Ortega took on Yair “El Pantera” Rodriguez. In the last seconds of the great first round, Ortegas hurt his shoulder and the fight was stopped. Rodriguez was declared the winner by TKO.

In the strawweight co-main event, No. 10 ranked veteran Michelle Waterson lost via a second round submission to No. 11 ranked Amanda Lemos.

The welterweight bout between Li “The Leech” Jingliang and Muslim “King of Kung Fu” Salikhov turned out to be as entertaining as promised. In the second round, Jingliang finished his opponent with a massive right hand.

Flyweights Matt Schnell and Sumudaerji also gave the crowd a fight to remember, with the second round being one of the best of the year. In the last minute of the round two, Schnell submitted his opponent with a triangle choke.

Another fight that ended up being a all-out war was the featherweight bout between Shane Burgos and Charles Jourdain. Burgos put on heavy pressure in the first two rounds, but Jourdain came back strong in round three.

In the main card opener, former bantamweight champion Miesha Tate lost her flyweight debut to Lauren Murphy. No. 3 ranked Murphy won the fight via unanimous decision.
