Women’s flyweight contender Erin Blanchfield keeps putting on impressive performances.
At last night’s UFC Vegas 69, the 23-year-old won her biggest fight to date as she submitted former strawweight champion Jessica Andrade in the main event.
In the first round, Blanchfield used her reach well as she traded shots with the feared Brazilian striker. In round two, the young American took the fight to the ground where she quickly secured a rear-naked choke that ended the fight.
The victory moves Blanchfield to 11-1 in her career, with 5-0 in the UFC, and will put her right in the title mix.
“Give me the winner of Shevchenko vs. Grasso next,” Blanchfield said after the fight. “I’m going to win a title and be a UFC champion.”
