Zhang Weili is a two-time champion
Zhang Weili reclaimed the women’s strawweight belt from Carla Esparza with a dominant performance this past November.
She first won the title back in 2019 when she defeated then-champion Jessica Andrade via a quick first-round TKO. Weili defended her strap against Joanna Jedrzejczyk in 2020, before suffering back-to-back losses to Rose Namajunas in 2021.
Amanda Lemos is 9-2 in the UFC and comes into the title fight with back-to-back stoppage wins against Michelle Waterson and Marina Rodriguez.
UFC 292 will take place at TD Garden in Boston on July 29. The card is headlined by a bantamweight title bout between reigning champion Aljamain Sterling and his rival Sean O’Malley.
