Leading up to the 2024 Olympic Games, Frontkick will provide you with stories of some of Sweden’s finest combat sports athletes competing in Paris. Let’s take a closer look at Agnes Alexiusson, who will participate in her second Olympics.

The 28-year-old boxer Agnes Alexiusson is ready for her second Olympics. Her disappointment from the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo is long gone, and a confident fighter will enter the ring in Paris.

“As long as I’m in shape it doesn’t matter who’s in front of me,” Alexiusson tells Frontkick.

“The best in the world will be there. There won’t be any easy fights. I’m not underestimate anyone. However, it’s not at all given who will get the medals. It’s very open and that’s fun.”

Agnes Alexiusson: “I know what to expect”

Alexiusson seem to be in a good place ahead of the competitions in Paris. Earlier this year, she sparred with Irish Olympic gold medalist Kellie Harrington, and before going to France she will have training camps in both Italy and Sweden.

With four straight wins in the qualifications in Thailand, she knows the she got what it takes to go far in the Olympics.

“After the qualifications I know that I’m in great shape. I feel excited but calm. I’ve taken away the pressure from myself. Athletes tends to have a lot of pressure on themselves and that can really ruined it for you. I’m just trying to enjoy the ride. The things you can’t control, like cuts and such, that’s nothing to worry about. I will give everything.”

“I’m well prepared and I know what to expect. I believe in myself. I’m a world elite boxer and have gone even rounds with the best, including the one who won the Olympics last time.”

The 2024 Summer Olympics are scheduled to take place from 26 July to 11 August in France. Frontkick will provide you with up-to-date results and interviews!
