Former Bellator champion AJ McKee made fight fans all over the world react in his cagewalk at the recent Rizin FF 40: Bellator vs. Rizin.
Wearing a hand-made $100,000 samurai armour that weighed 25 kilos, he was all dressed up for action ahead of his main event against Rizin FF lightweight champion Roberto de Souza.
In a recent interview with MMA Junkie, McKee he talked about the armour that was both expensive and heavy.
“I ended up finding this one and it was 100 bands. I was like, ‘Let’s do it.’ It took a while to pull the trigger – a lot of negotiating. I was like, ‘I’ll do half right now, and then we’ll get everything else situated.’ I wanted to walk out in it and put on a show. I knew I was going to need help. It’s a real suit. It’s 25 kilos that thing was heavy, and I stood in it for like 45 minutes before the fight,” McKee said.

Even though the samurai outfit was heavy, the former Bellator champion was able to get the win against de Souza via unanimous decision.
With the win, AJ McKee now has a professional record of 20-1. His sole defeat came when he lost the Bellator featherweight title to Patrício Pitbull in April 2022.
Prior to the cross-promotion fight, de Souza only suffered one loss as a pro, which came back in 2019.
