Mexican boxing superstar Canelo Alvarez threatens football legend Lionel Messi for disrespecting Mexico in the Qatar World Cup.

Alvarez claims Messi disrespected the Mexican flag after Argentina defeated Mexico 2-0 in a recent football match. In a video from the Argentina locker room, Messi appeared (or not) to kick a Mexican jersey or flag that was laying on the floor, something that made the boxer see red.

“Saw Messi cleaning the floor with our jersy and flag? He should ask God that I don’t find him,” Canelo wrote on social media.

However, even Mexican supporters had a hard time backing up the champion claims, with most agreeing the Argentinian football star was just taking off his boots after the game.

Canelo didn’t get a reply from Messi

The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi scored in the win over Mexico with a superb long-range goal in the second half of the game. The victory was crucial as Argentina shockingly lost to Saudi Arabia in their first game.

“Today another World Cup starts for Argentina,” Messi said after the game. “I tell people the same thing, that they continue to believe. Today we did what we had to do,” Messi said after the game.

At the moment, the Argentinian football player has not yet replied to Canelo Alvarez threats.
