Danish Bellator fighter Mads Burnell is set for a new fight as he will take on Germany’s Daniel Weichel. The bout is set to take place at a Bellator event in Dublin, Ireland, on September 23.
“On September 23 we’re gonna find out who Bellators real king of the north is when i fight this legend of european mma. Can’t wait to put on a great performance and take my crown! You don’t wanna miss this! A huge thanks to Bellator MMA for putting this fight together,” Burnell wrote on Instagram.
Mads Burnell comes from a win against Justin Gonzales at Bellator 295 on April 22. The win snapped a two-fight losing streak in 2022.
Before his Bellator run, the Danish MMA fighter competed in both UFC and Cage Warriors.
In 2019 Burnell challenged Dean Trueman for the Cage Warriors featherweight title at Cage Warriors 106. After submitted Trueman in the second round and he secured the 145 belt. The 29-year-old fought four times in the promotion and won them all.
Daniel Weichel is a veteran in Bellator with 17 fights in the promotion.
