Karate Combat returned Saturday to Miami with a stacked card that featured a welterweight World Championship between champion Josh Quayhagen and interim champion Rafael Aghayev.

After a great fight where both combatants had their moments, Aghayev stood as the winner via unanimous decision.

We also saw a lightweight co-main event where former KC World Champion Edgars Skrivers defeated multi-time world kickboxing champion Gabriel Varga via split decision.

Tough loss for Samuel Ericsson

Sweden’s Samuel Ericsson also fought on the card as he took Alexandre Bouderbane in his third fight in the promotion.

The Swede had back-to-back wins in KC and moved up in weight to take on Bouderbane who eventually won the tough and even fight via unanimous decision.
