Rising featherweight contender Ilia Topuria is on a big roll as he defeated top ranked Josh Emmett via unanimous decision.

The undefeated fighter is confident that he’s six straight UFC wins will get him next in line for a title fight.

“I can wait. One of the best skills that I have is the patience. If they offer me to fight with Max Holloway in Spain, let’s do it. If not, I’m going to wait for my title fight. That’s all,” Topuria said at the UFC post-fight press conference.

Ilia Topuria will go for the KO

Ilia Topuria made his promotional debut in October 2020 and really put himself on fight fans’ radars as he stopped Bryce Mitchell at UFC 282 this past December.

With six wins in the UFC, including four stoppages, the 26-year-old is confident that he got what it takes to become the new featherweight king.

“I showed it tonight that no one can match my level of skill inside the cage,” Topuria said. “I think everyone is in (agreement) with me. I know that I can finish anyone in this division. Just it was tough tonight. But I beat him pretty easy. It’s not going to be different with Alex. The recipe is going to be the same. I’m going to knock him out in the first round, second round. If not, I’m going to dominate him for five rounds, no problem.”
