At last Saturday’s UFC 276, the highly anticipated bantamweight fight between “Sugar” Sean O’Malley and Pedro Munhoz ended up being a no-contest. That’s after O’Malley accidentally poked Munhoz in the eye during the second round.

In recent appearance on The MMA Hour, Munhoz revelead that he received several threats online since the fight.

“All these guys texted me, talking about my wife, talking about my family, say they’re gonna fight me,” Munhoz said. “And guess what? To them, I said, ‘You can find me, I’ll be in the pool here Sunday all day’. A few of them walked by but they’re gangsters on computers. I was there the whole time, see a bunch of them, and nobody came to do anything.”

Pedro Munhoz disappointed with “Sugar”

Pedo Munhoz is disappointed how O’Malley handled the aftermath of the no-contest bout, and accused him for using the eye-poke incident to get more followers on social media.

“He didn’t do it on purpose,” Munhoz said on The MMA Hour. “But a lot of his actions after the fight were things that I don’t think is right based on my values. He apologized to me, and then he made a video on TikTok and make fun of me.”

The Brazilian bantamweight veteran made his UFC debut in February 2014. All in all, he fought 18 times in the organization. During his long career Munhoz defeated tough opponents like Jimmie Rivera, Rob Font and former bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt.
