Norwegian Muay Thai fighter Anne-Line Hogstad will return to Swedish soil on Saturday, as she’s booked to face rising star Vilda Ekhorn at MTFL: Unite Against Cancer.
The Norwegian competed at the very first MTFL where she defeated Uma Galli and currently fights under the ONE Championship banner where she is top five ranked in both Kickboxing and Muay Thai.
“I love MTFL so much I’ve been nagging Patrick Thomsen to be a part of the event,” Hogstad says with a laugh when Frontkick calls her up. “I love to be fighting for a good cause.”
Anne-Line Hogstad faces ‘up-and-coming superstar’
As a two-time ISKA World Champion, three Norwegian champion, ISKA scandinavian champion and a two-time Scandinavian K1 Champion, it’s fair to claim that the Norwegian is just as game as you possibly can be. The Norwegian reveals that has been focusing a lot on her boxing lately, and looks forward to seeing how it will develop her game in the ring.
And even if Ekhorn doesn’t have the same professional experience as her, Hogstad still doesn’t take the young Swede lightly.
“Vilda is an up-and-coming superstar. A very tough opponent, I’m looking forward to fighting her.”
“It’s the first time I fight for charity”
MTFL: Unite Against Cancer is a charity fundraising event in favour of The Swedish Cancer Society that will take place on October 28 at the Partiella Arena in Gothenburg.
For Anne-Line Hogstad, it’s special to be fighting on the card.
“It’s an honour to be a part of the event. We all know people of had cancer, and it’s really an honor to be a part of this. It’s the first time I fight for charity,” Hogstad says. “I love fighting in Sweden, I always get such a good receiving here.”
