Gervonta Davis showed why he is one of the best boxers in the world with his impressive eighth-round knockout victory over Frank Martin. With the win, ”Tank” retained his WBA lightweight title and maintained his undefeated record.
Davis started slow but eventually showcased his signature power and skill in round 8, as he backed Martin up against the ropes and landed a flush combination that floored his opponent.
“I’m back,” Davis said after the fight. “A couple rounds, I felt like I didn’t warm up completely like I wanted to. It’s OK, no excuses. His footwork wasn’t bothering me. I knew he was going to tire down.”
“I was just standing there, being a target for him just so he could tire himself out. Once he tired himself out, I started picking him apart.”

Gervonta Davis might face ”Loma” next
Gervonta Davis might face Ukrainian veteran, and IBF champion, Vasiliy ”Loma” Lomachenko next.
”For sure, yeah for sure,” Davis said about a potential a Lomachenko matchup.
In the co-main event in Las Vegas, undefeated David Benavidez beat the former WBC light heavy champion and Olympic Medalist Oleksandr Gvozdyk for the WBC interim light heavyweight strap.
