Boxing in Paris Olympics

The 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris are just days away. For many sports enthusiasts, boxing is one of the absolute highlights of the games.

The tournament will include a total of 13 weight categories (7 men’s and 6 women’s), and will be held at the North Paris Arena at Villepinte and the classic Roland-Garros Stadium. No fewer than 249 boxers – 124 female and 125 male – will compete from July 27 until 10 August 10.

Boxing stars to keep an eye on

One of the most exciting pugilists are Cuba’s Julio Cesar La Cruz who aims to lay his hands on a third-consecutive Olympic gold medal at 92kg.

We will also see reigning European champion, Ireland’s Kellie Harrington, who returns to defend her gold medal. Her 60 kg division is one of the best in the games, with boxers like Brazilian Pan American Games champion Beatriz Ferreira, who fought in the finals in Tokyo, and Sweden’s Agnes Alexiousson.

Make sure to also keep an eye on British super heavyweight Delicious Orie, Swedish flyweight Nebil Ibrahim, USA’s Joshua Edwards and double Olympic champion Arlen Lopez.
