Ingemar ”Ingo” Johansson is arguably one of the biggest Swedish sport stars of all time and the only Swede to ever win a heavyweight boxing title.

On June 26 1959 he entered the ring in Yankee Stadium as a 5–1 underdog but stopped Floyd Patterson within three rounds to become the heavyweight world champion.

Johansson lost both the rematch and the third fight against Patterson and decided to end his successful career with a 26-2 record at the age of 30.
