Jared Cannonier has one condition to fight Khamzat Chimaev

With four wins in his last five fights, middleweight Jared Cannonier is building himself up to fight for the UFC title again.

At Saturday’s post-fight press conference, he was asked if he wants to welcome Khamzat Chimaev to the middleweight division, and the ”Killa Gorilla” is ready to take the high-profile fight on one condition.

”If that fight gives me a title shot. You think so? I don’t know, he’s not even ranked at middleweight, is he? So I mean, I know he’s popular, everybody wants to see him do his thing and stuff like that. If they called me and said ’Khamzat for contenders match’ that’s a yes.”

Jared Cannonier: ”It would be a good fight”

The former title challenger believed that a fight with Chimaev would be a good one of it would happen.

”I’m trying to get to the title, I’m not just fighting to entertain you people. You know what I mean, I know you guys want to see it. It would be a good fight, you know what I mean. If that fight get me the title shot, yes, I just beat No. 3. I’m not looking back, I look forward, to be the champion,” Jared Cannonier said.

”So if Dana [White] and Hunter [Campbell] and them say ’he’s between you and the champion’ that’s something we can talk about.”
