The WBC title bout between undefeated champion Patricia Berghult and challenger Cecilia Brækhus was recently postponed from its original date on August 13. According to Norwegian newspaper VG, the reason behind the reschedule is that superstar Jennifer Lopez, who will perform at the event, is on her honeymoon in August.
”She was supposed to be the headliner of the concert during the event, so the Colombian promotor chose to postpone the whole event,” Cecilia Brækhus told VG.

The new date is set for September 24 and Patricia Berghult can do nothing more than continue her training camp.
”We could not believe it, but now it’s confirmed. We trained hard for the fight and then it was postponed on short notice,” Berghult recently told SVT Sport. ”The date is new too, we have not been briefed about it. There is nothing to do but to keep on training, but we don’t want to be the last to know when to fight. You can’t do more than laugh about it.”
”I understand that she is important for the event, but I think it’s very unfortunate that it will affect the boxers,” Berhult said.
