Norwegian MMA veteran Joachim Tollefsen is up for a big challenge on Saturday.

At the very first Dominance FC card in Denmark, he will face Abdulatip Samedov in the main event.

”I don’t know much about him, but just by his last name, I can guess he will go for takedowns,” Tollefsen tells Frontkick in an exclusive interview.

Dominance FC was founded by UFC veteran and three-time Olympian Mark O. Madsen. The DFC team also includes one of the world’s most prominent MMA managers in Ali Abdelaziz, who will act as a matchmaker, as well as former UFC double champion Henry Cejudo as a commentator.

Tollefsen is certain that the ambitious organization will find success.

”Maria and Mark Madsen have organized events before, and everything about their events is very professional. I’m sure DFC is going to become what they visualize as the leading European MMA organisation in the future.”

How does it feel to be a part of the main event?

”To headline DFC 1, at the iconic K.B. Hallen, is a great honour!”

Joachim Tollefsen: ”There are a lot of obstacles as a Norwegian MMA professional”

Mixed Martial Arts is a respected and mainstream sport in most parts of the world except Norway. Just like many MMA fighters from the country, Tollefsen struggles to be able to fight on a professional level.

”There are a lot of obstacles as a Norwegian MMA professional as it is not legal in Norway. You’re pretty much forced to live your life as a professional athlete while working up to one hundred percent. But with DFC I hope to have a secure future in potential matchups.”
