Swedish Olympic boxer Nebil Ibrahim can look back on a very solid performance in his first Olympic games.

In his Olympic debut, the 23-year-old put on a great fight as he defeated Wasim Abusal with 5-0 on the scorecards.

Ibrahim lost yesterday’s eighth final against World Champion, and No. 1 ranked boxer, Abdumalik Khalokov. The Swede put up a good fight and gave it all against the Uzbeki boxer, who’s one of the favorites to win gold.

In an Instagram post Ibrahim reflected on his fights in Paris.

”The 2024 Olympics are done. It’s a bit sad that I couldn’t make it all the way and win a medal, but at the same time I gave it all in every fight so I can’t put myself down. The experience was something special and I want to thank everyone who supported me here and back home. It means so much! Now I will get a little rest from boxing for a while and then we will see what the future holds. Alhamdulilah for everything!” (Translated from Swedish by Frontkick)

A dream come true for Nebil Ibrahim

23-year-old Nebil Ibrahim is a Scandinavian Champion and a four-time Swedish Champion. Fighting in the Olympics was a dream come true for the Swede.

“I have had this goal since I was 12 years old. That’s when my plan started,” Ibrahim said in a interview with Frontkick.

Sweden sent two boxers to the 2024 Olympics in Paris. Agnes Alexiusson fell short in her first fight against María José Palacios from Ecuador.
