Poirier vs. Burns for UFC 288?! ”I can make 170 no problem!”

Gilbert Burns is looking for a quick return to action as he intends to be a part of the vacant UFC 288 co-main event.

The scheduled lightweight co-main event between Charles Oliveira and Beneil Dariush was recently scratched from the fight card due to an injury.

Burns wanted to face the No. 4-ranked Belal Muhammad short-notice clash, but the fight have fell through according to the Brazilian.

However, when Burns called out Dustin Poirier, it seemed like the top ranked lightweight was down to fight at UFC 288.

”All do respect to Dustin Poirier I know you are a dog! May 6 I suppose to fight Belal for n1 contender! I just think me and you will be an amazing fight! Nothing but respect,” Burns tweeted.
