Sean Strickland slams climate activist ’idiot’ Greta Thunberg
Publicerat

UFC middleweight Sean Strickland is no stranger to drama and controversy – often utilizing his right to free speech to the fullest extent to say the least. Now, the fighter has decided to go after Swedish climate activist and global phenomenon Greta Thunberg on Twitter.
Strickland doesn’t seem to worry too much about hurting anyone’s feelings and don’t really hold back at all when sharing his opinions online, something that has caused him to be banned from various social media platforms in the past.
This time is certainly no different as he decided to use colorful language, sort of speak, while taking aim at a recent tweet from Thunberg.
Sean Strickland blasts Greta Thunberg: ”Can we please just throw this idiot in a forest somewhere?”
Greta Thunberg tweeted that it’s getting ”even more impossible to ignore the climate crisis” while pointing out that people in power ”still somehow live in denial, and actively move in the wrong direction”.
It is getting even more impossible to ignore the climate crisis. The fact that people in power still somehow live in denial, and actively move in the wrong direction, will eventually be seen for and understood as the unprecedented betrayal it is. It is just a matter of time. https://t.co/weGGpGsyqM

Sean Strickland then decided to chime in by suggesting that Thunberg is being hypocritical and that she should be thrown into ”a forrest somewhere” while trying to insult the 2o year old activist with some unflattering language words in the process.
Yo retard you're literally using a phone as we speak… A phone made in some polluting factory in China, lithium that takes massive amount of water and waste…..
Can we please just throw this idiot in a forest somewhere…. https://t.co/DlqPQzNsYr

While Strickland’s comments would probably be in breach of the UFC’s code of conduct, the promotion has essentially stopped enforcing the code of conduct completely, establishing more of a hands-off approach to fighters expressing themself.
As for Thunberg, she’s most likely had to get used to critics and haters going at her in various ways. While she’s been known to clap back with clever responses every now and then, the young activist has not responded to Strickland’s tweet at this time.
