Shavkat Rakhmonov just took on Stephen Thompson in a welterweight fight at UFC 296 in Las Vegas, and kept his undefeated streak going with another finish.
Rakhmonov’s wrestling and pressure was relentless throughout the bout. He was pretty much in total control, threatening with a submission in the first round before subsequently securing a rear-naked choke submission win late in round two.
Kazakhstan’s Rakhmonov is now 18-0 in pro MMA with every win coming by way of finish. With six straight wins in the UFC, he could be nearing a title shot.
As for Thompson, the 40-year-old has now lost three out of his last four bouts.
