UFC 218 was hosted at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, and headlined by a featherweight title fight between champion Max ”Blessed” Holloway and former champion Jose Aldo.

The two rivals met previously at UFC 212, with ”Blessed” defeating Aldo to win the championship.
