Top prospect Tobias Harila forced out of Contender Series debut!

Unfortunately MMA fans wont be seeing Swedish phenom Tobias ”Bad Intention” Harila compete in Dana White’s Contender Series fora chance at securing a UFC contract. Harila was booked to face Luis ”Corazon de Leon” Pajuelo on August 22nd, a bout that won’t go through as planned.

According to information from Harilas team that went via our sister site Maximum Sports visa issues are the main cuprit. Due to an old offence that amounted to no more than fines Harilas name is listen in Swedish criminal records. This piece of information wasn’t disclosed when Harila competed in the 2016 IMMAF World Championships in Las Vegas. Now that has caught up to Harila, who hasn’t been granted a visa to compete in the USA.

Harilas head coach Jörgen Hamberg revealed the information this morning. He also said that Harilas team are trying to sort the issue ut via an immigration lawyer, though the odds of securing a visa before the planned date are minimal at best.

”Yes, it’s a real shame, but it is what it is, we’ll go forward and continue to knock people out so he can continue to ascend. If it’s the UFC or another organsiation, it doesn’t really matter. This whole thing with the USA and border control is an issue but if it doesn’t work out we’ll fight at other places where seven years of no drugs and no crimes can let one be seen as a new person,” Hamberg told Maximum Sports

Hamberg also told Maximum Sports that he and Harilas team have contacted Cage Warriors match maker Ian Dean in order to book new bouts in Europe while the visa issue is sorted. ”Bad Intention” currently holds a 4-2 record in the promotion – which has produced more UFC fighters than any other organsiation in Europe.

Harila has been a fantastic role model for youths since making a name for himself in MMA. Hopefully the visa issue can be resolved and in doing so, show that troubled youths can change, succeed and achieve great things in life.
