Aspen Ladd is cut from the UFC. Her release from the promotion comes after she failed to make weight for her fight against Sara McMann at UFC Vegas 60 on September 17. Ladd weighed in at 138 pounds for the fight.
The 27-year-old has struggled with making the bantamweight limit of 135 pound throughout her years in the promotion. All in all, she had three separate UFC fights cancelled when she was unable to make weight.
Aspen Ladd was one of the most promising female fighters
Aspen Ladd was once considered to be one of the most promising female prospects in the UFC, with eight straight wins and no defeats. However, she left the promotion with a record of 9-3, 4-3 in the UFC, with losses against Germaine de Randamie, Raquel Pennington and Norma Dumont.
Ahead of her fight against former title challenger de Randamie, back in 2019, Ladd was in really bad shape stepping onto the scale. Even though she made weight for the bantamweight bout, Ladd was knocked out after just 16 seconds.
